What should I expect on my first visit?
It is not uncommon that on your very first visit, the services will be limited to a Comprehensive Exam, with either Dr. Yung or one of his associates, and a full set of x-rays. The primary focus of this visit is data collection and an opportunity to establish rapport so that we can better understand your dental needs and expectations. We may not do a cleaning on your first visit due to either time or scheduling restrictions and hygienist availability. If you would like to have a cleaning on your first visit, please make the scheduler aware of your expectations so that we can better serve your needs. X-rays play a critical role in our ability to diagnose disease in your mouth. It is not sufficient to find and diagnose disease based only on a visual exam and this is considered the standard of care for the ADA as well as Dr. Yung's office. Under certain circumstances, x-rays can be delayed, especially if there is a medical reason involved that is supported by your physician.
What insurance do you take?
We accept all PPO and Premier insurance plans, but we do not accept Medi-Cal and Denti-Cal or HMO insurance plans at this time. Please call our office to see if we are an in-network or out-of-network provider for your specific insurance plan and what that means to you and your co-pays.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes we are, and we'd love to see your friends and family as well!
When can I get an appointment?
You can usually get an appointment within 24 hours especially if it's an emergency. If it is an emergency, we'll most likely see you the day you call.
Do you treat kids?
We do see children and suggest that their first dental appointment be at the age of 1.
Is your office clean?
We maintain a clean and sterile working space that is both warm and inviting.
Do you have to wait long once you arrive for your dental appointment?
Most of the time we are on schedule, which means we expect to see you at your designated appointment time. We don't want you to wait any more than you would have us wait for you to arrive. We value being on time. It is important to realize however that if there is a patient coming in for an emergency whether it is you or any of our patients, we do our best to accommodate them and ask for your kind consideration under these circumstances.
Where are you located and how do I get there?
We are located in the Arcade Lane shopping plaza on East Colorado Blvd, between El Molino Ave and Oak Knoll Ave. We are across the street from the Laemmle Theatre and Vroman’s Bookstore. If you park on Colorado Blvd, you will need to walk through the shopping plaza to the stairs or elevator, as our office is not on Colorado Blvd but faces Green St. Our office is above the El Portal Restaurant, on the second floor directly outside the elevator door.
Parking for our building is on Green Street (one block south of Colorado Blvd). Green St is a one-way street heading east. Our parking lot is between El Molino Ave and Oak Knoll Ave, on the left side. The parking for our building is an open lot, and we offer validation for up to two hours. One hour street parking is also available on many of the streets adjacent to our building.
Driving directions from major freeways:
From the 110 North: When the 110 North ends it becomes Arroyo Parkway. Keep heading north on Arroyo Parkway until you reach Colorado Blvd. Turn right on Colorado Blvd. and proceed East on Colorado. We are located about 6 blocks on the right hand side.
From the 210 Freeway: Take the Lake Avenue Exit off the 210 Freeway. Turn South onto Lake Avenue. Proceed just a few blocks to Colorado Blvd the turn Right (West). We are located just 3 blocks ahead on the left.
