Holiday Letter 2007

December 17, 2007

Dear Family and Friends,

I wish you all a very warm holiday greeting!  This letter is to give you an update on my life and the status of my dental practice.  I am proud to say that this year has exceeded my expectations for success due to all of you and my wonderful staff.  We were given the prestigious award of “Best Dentistry 2007” by Pasadena Weekly readers.  Thank you all for voting - it certainly made this year a memorable one!

Cindy and I can’t believe how our 18-month old daughter Selene has grown in so many ways.  Already a young woman in her own mind, she delights in trying on shoes (whether they’re mommy’s, daddy’s, or her own) and purses (even a shopping bag will do)!  We recently discovered that Selene has an egg, chicken, and almond allergy, which took us by surprise.  Happily, Selene doesn’t miss any of those food items, since she’s more of a veggie-fruit lover.  It amazes us how she is learning new words and concepts every day.

As many of you have noticed, there have been changes in our staff this past year.  Most of you have met Belle Lyster, my new front office manager.  Our new additional hygienist, Jason Guzman RDH, has already received many compliments on his thorough and gentle touch (he’s here Tuesdays and soon Fridays too).  Another new face is Daniel Lyster, who is our “floating” assistant with daily office operations.  Finally, on the baby news front, we’re really excited that Florilyn is expecting a healthy baby girl in February and will be on maternity leave after her delivery.  With our office getting bigger and busier, we are expanding our hours to include Wednesday mornings
(8am-12pm), while still maintaining Thursday evening hours and once-a-month Saturdays by appointment.

We’ve added some new services to our office as well.  My staff and I have attended many hours of training sessions to provide Invisalign (teeth straightening without braces!) and Lumineers (veneers without anesthesia!).  These procedures can improve your smile and make you look younger.  In case we missed you, please let us know what your dental needs are so that we can promptly get you a free consultation visit.  Tell a friend!

Parking behind our building has also changed, such that the validation currently offered is now limited to one hour.  To maintain the original 90 minute validation, we will be offering validation stickers to lower the cost of your stay with us.  If you haven’t had a chance to visit all the wonderful business shops of the Arcade Lane building, please do so and support our small businesses.

If there is anything that I or my staff can do to improve your visits with us, please don’t hesitate to discuss that with me.  I am always open to new ideas when it comes to improving patient care.  I hope all of you will appreciate the efforts I’ve made to introduce new technology in the dental setting and I thank you for your patience during these times.  Finally, you will soon have the ability to watch movies or listen to music in your chair during your appointment as a distraction method.

Once again, thank you for your business and your friendship.  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  God bless.

Sincerely,

Michael S. Yung DDS

Holiday Letter 2006

December 20, 2006

Dear Friends and Family,

Happy holidays to everyone this festive season.  Every year I write an end-of-the-year newsletter to mark the coming of yet another great year.  I know this past year has been difficult for some, whether it be the loss of someone close or the news of some life-altering ailment.  For those people I truly empathize with you and offer you our prayers.  I hope no matter how difficult your life is, you can always count on the dental services offered in my office.  As ever, I remain vigilant of the best services and materials available to dental professionals and am constantly working to improve and make available those services to you.  As my practice has grown this year, so too has my experience broadened with smile design and makeover.  I have recently become a certified provider for Lumineers advertised on television as the “no drilling, no shots” veneer process.  You probably know someone or heard of someone who had their teeth done reshaped with traditional veneers which usually requires some drilling under local anesthesia.  The Lumineers concept prefers covering your existing teeth whether natural or capped with veneers bonded on top of them.  While not everyone is a great candidate for Lumineers, most people can benefit from a smile makeover without injections and without the sound of a drill.  Better yet, since we’re not taking away any of your tooth structure, the veneers can be removed just as easily revealing what you started with (in the slim chance that you didn’t like your new smile)… meaning the process is reversible.

On a joyous note, my daughter Selene just passed her 6 month mark and is as healthy as can be.  Cindy and I could not be more proud of her if she were the future president of the United States of America.  Suffice it to say we have lots of love and high hopes to share with her.  For all of you who are trying to have kids, I wish you the best of luck for there can be no better joy in the world… except maybe a double double at In-n-Out

For all of you who have continued to become loyal clients of mine, I thank you.  For all of my clients who have become friends of mine, I cherish you.  God bless you all and have a safe and wonderful holiday season!
